About Us
Fylde rotary ramblers, based in the north west, was formed in 1988 to arrange a pleasant day out for like-minded people, in good company, by way of a regular monthly walk, every third Sunday in the month, in areas accessible from our Fylde Coast base.
Our aim is to ensure that our members have an enjoyable day out walking every month in areas such as The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, The Peak District and Lancashire and that we meet from time to time to take pleasure in each others company by way of social events.
You are welcome to join us on any of the walks at any time and this will give you an insight into our Club and whether or not you would like to become a member of Fylde rotary ramblers.
::CONSTITUION::
Copies of the Club Constitution can be obtained from the Secretary.
::COMMITTEE::
Each year a Committee is elected (please click here for details of the 2012 Committee)
::INSURANCE::
The Club has two insurance policies. There is a public liability policy to cover loss, injury or damage to third parties or their property. A second policy provides personal accident insurance for Club members. For those under 16 or over 70 years of age the benefits are limited. For further details about either policy, please contact the Club Treasurer.
::SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS::
Leaders of the walks are Club members who will be competent navigators and in many cases will have been leading parties for a number of years. Although the leader is responsible to lead the party for the day, you should be aware that you are ultimately responsible for your own safety and should follow their advice. Please do not depart from your party without first speaking to the leader. Anyone unable to complete the walk for any reason will be accompanied by a competent party member back to the waiting coach by the shortest possible route.
::SOCIAL EVENTS::
An August Sunday afternoon soiree.
Mid summer meal in August.
Details of the social events will be published in the monthly newsletter.
Christmas Walks, Meal and Entertainment.
We also hold an annual photographic competition of pictures taken by members, on any subject of interest, whilst out walking with the Club. The photographs are independently judged at the end of the year and an award presented to the winner at the Annual General Meeting.
